Our aims are to design a fun interactive multimedia game for young adults with learning difficulties, teaching them how to use and explorepublic transport and to learn pedestrian safety issues. We will design a bus game, focussing on one public transport, detailing and giving users to opportunity to identify the basics of how to use a bus, and what you need to use the bus. After learning the basics, it would detail how to identify a bus stop, and how to recognise their stop and how to get of a bus.
Our multimedia game will be assessed on line via our client’s website, which would also be used in education systems. The issues that may concern us are, using appropriate text, font, size, and following accessibility guidelines to meet our target audience’s need and appropriateness.
Our initial research would detail the different type of learning disabilities our game is designed for, moderate, severe, and profound learning difficulties. We would also need to include and research basic road and public safety signs. Many people with learning difficulties undertake very independent activities, and prior knowledge about public transport should not be assumed, therefore our game would teach from a basic level progressing to a higher and harder level.
Our game is limited to an on line space where our game will be uploaded on to our client’s initial website and programme that is currently under construction.
